Stress/Anxiety
Stress and anxiety impacts us differently: increased irritability, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty concentrating, increased worry, difficulty sleeping, etc. Having a resource to help you reduce your stress and anxiety easily and quickly is important to being able to function at your best. Dr. Sara Gilman, LMFT for 35 years stated, “It is truly remarkable to just be able to put them on and let the gentle pulsing help the nervous system to reset. I take them everywhere I go!”
Sleep
When using your tappers to help you wind down at night or to use them to help you get to sleep, it is recommended that you turn both the rate of speed and the rate of intensity down. (slow speed, light tapping)
Trauma
When we have experienced a trauma, it is normal to feel lots of emotions, such as anxious, sad and irritable. It is often difficult to concentrate and think clearly. Sleep is often disrupted. We can be easily triggered and feel overwhelmed. Bi-Tapp is a resource that can help our nervous system feel safer and calmer.
Use the tappers as often as needed. Find the settings that are calming to you. If you use them tappers to help you sleep at night, remember to turn the settings down (slow tapping, lighter intensity)
First Responders
Accessing resources to help you stay in your window of tolerance throughout your shift is important. You want to help your nervous system recover from stressful situations as quickly as possible. Wear the tappers during stressful situations. Use the tappers afterwards to help you calm down.
For those of you who struggle to get quality sleep, use the tappers to help you unwind at night and fall asleep. Remember to turn the settings for both the rate of speed and rate of intensity down at night. Who benefits from you having a well regulated nervous system? You do, and so does your family and friends.
Children
Children cannot absorb new learning or follow directions when they are anxious, upset or angry. It is important to shift your focus in these moments from trying to reason with them, to focusing on regulation. Bi-Tapp is an excellent resource to help them calm down in moments of heightened stress and anxiety. Once they are calm, your interactions will go much better with your child/teenager.
It is important to remember that things will also go much better if you are in your window of tolerance. Use the same resources as your children to help you feel calmer.
Parents
Being a parent or a caregiver can be exhausting at times. It is important that you spend as much time as possible in your window of tolerance for your overall health and well being.

Addiction Recovery
Keeping your nervous system calm and regulated in healthy ways, is a key component to your sobriety and your overall mental and emotional health. When you are out of your window of tolerance, you are at a higher risk of relapse. Accessing resources to help your return to your window of tolerance quickly is important.
Autism
Many people who are on the Autism spectrum are experiencing the benefits of using Bi-Tapp as a calming resource. If a person has texture sensitivity to the tappers, be flexible in exploring options such as wearing the tappers in pockets or finding a material that the person likes that the tappers can be encased in.
Levels of Tolerance
Window of Tolerance
Gaining a working understanding of the Window of Tolerance is the single most important thing that will help you effectively manage your stress and improve your relationships. Why Does Bilateral Tapping Work as a Calming Resource?
Bilateral stimulation activates each hemisphere of the brain in an alternating pattern, inhibiting the amygdala.
